Sinatra at the Sands Reprise at 2019 Fringe

Rochester, NY – Impressionist Frank Torchio and The Russell Scarbrough Orchestra will perform at the 2019 KeyBank Rochester Fringe Festival (Tuesday, Sept. 10 – Saturday, Sept. 21) at 6:00 pm on Friday, September 13th, at the Lyric Theatre (440 East Ave, Rochester, NY 14607).  Tickets are $20 at the rochesterfringe.com.  Remaining tickets will be available at the door starting one hour before curtain.

In many ways, Sinatra at the Sands, recorded in April of 1966 in the Copa Room at The Sands Casino with Count Basie and his Orchestra, is the definitive portrait of Frank Sinatra in the ’60s.  The show, Sinatra at the Sands Reprise, recreates the 1966 show featuring Frank Torchio’s rendering of the Chairman and The Russell Scarbrough Orchestra swinging like the Count.  The Reprise Show includes many definitive readings of the songs that are most closely identified with Frank Sinatra, like Come Fly With Me, Lady is a Tramp, I’ve Got You Under My Skin, and Luck be a Lady, as well as comedy and impressions.

You’ll never get a chance to see Frank Sinatra perform in concert, but some people say that Frank Torchio is the next best thing. Teaming up with The Russell Scarbrough Big Band, they bring back an amazing reproduction of the famed 1966 concert with Frank Sinatra and the Count Basie Orchestra at the Sands in Las Vegas. In September 2018, over 400 enthusiastic fans enjoyed the music and the memories of this concert at the Cultural Life Center at Roberts Wesleyan College.
